How to Create a User in Coupa

How to create a new user and enable MFA

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Tesorio recommends that you set up a dedicated user in Coupa for use with supplier portals and that you enable multifactor authentication and enter the security key in Tesorio. If MFA is not configured, the Agent will not be able to sync POs and submit invoices for your customers that require two-factor authentication (2FA).

Create a User in Coupa

Log in (https://supplier.coupahost.com) and select Setup from the Navigation bar.

If you have administrative privileges, his should take you to the user list within Coupa.

On the user list page, select Invite User.

This will open a form to enter user information.

Fill out the form as follows:

  • First Name: Tesorio

  • Last Name: Coupa Integration

  • Email: Use an email alias or an existing integrations email address your organization is already using. Ensure that you have access to this email account and can receive and view emails.

  • Select all of the permissions besides “Admin”

Under Customers, click to provide access to ‘All’

At the very bottom of the form, select the Send Invitation button.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication

  1. Log in to your Coupa account with the new Tesorio user

  2. Navigate to Account Settings > Security and Multi-Factor Authentication.

  3. Click on Via Authenticator App

  4. Tesorio needs the Security Key below the QR code, but an admin in your organization should also set-up an Authenticator App to be able to log in with the Tesorio user

  5. Copy the code displayed below the QR code

6. Open Tesorio and navigate to Administration > Integrations and locate the Supplier Portal section. Select Add Credentials

Enter the email of the user and paste the security key into the OTP field and Save.
