Foreign Exchange Conversions

Updated over a week ago

There are three currency types you can view in Tesorio:

  • Invoice currency: The currency in which the invoice was issued

  • Root currency: The currency your company uses

  • Customer currency: The currency your customer uses

Depending on where you are viewing these currencies, they can be pulling from different places.

In this example from the Customers workspace, the invoice currency is in US Dollars (USD), the root currency is in Canadian Dollars (CAD), and the customer currency is in Euros.

Values that come from the ERP:

  • Invoice Currency on the invoice level

  • Root currency on the invoice level

  • Customer currency total on the Customer Balance column

  • Root currency total on the Customer Balance column

Values that come from Tesorio:

  • Root currency on the Open Invoices Balance column

  • Customer currency on the Open Invoices Balance column

These values are calculated by taking the invoice currency of each invoice and converting each one to the root and customer currency using the conversation rate on the date of each invoice. These are then totaled to give the values in the Open Invoices Balance Column.
