The Tesorio Supplier Portal Autofill extension works inside Google Chrome. It uses the portal logins and invoices that are in Tesorio to fill supplier portal pages for you. You stay in control: you look at each value, and you submit the invoice yourself.
This article covers:
1. Grant Access to the Chrome Extension
💡Pre Requisite: The Tesorio Supplier Portal Agent needs to be enabled for your company.
Ask Tesorio to turn on the extension for your company. Contact Tesorio Support.
Until Tesorio turns it on, the extension is not available to users.
Give your users access to Customer Purchase Orders. In Tesorio, navigate to Administration > Permissions. Select the Permission Groups that will use the extension, then turn on the Customer Purchase Orders toggle.
See section 4 in Enable and Configure Supplier Portal Submissions
Use Google Chrome on a computer. The extension is for desktop Chrome.
Save your portal logins in Tesorio. The extension fills only the logins that are saved in Tesorio. Only a Tesorio Admin can add a login to be used through the Chrome Extension.
2. Install the extension
In Chrome, open the Tesorio Supplier Portal Autofill page in the Chrome Web Store.
Click Add to Chrome, then click Add extension.
Click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome toolbar - Extensions, then click the pin next to Tesorio Supplier Portal Autofill. The Tesorio icon now stays in your toolbar.
3. Sign in to Tesorio from the extension
Click the Tesorio icon in the Chrome toolbar. The Tesorio panel opens on the right side of the window.
Click Sign in. A new tab opens the Tesorio page Connect Tesorio to the supplier portals extension.
Sign in to Tesorio with your email and password, or with single sign-on.
The extension never sees your Tesorio password.
Go back to your portal tab. The panel shows Signed in as and your email.
Your sign-in stays valid for one week. After that, the panel shows Your Tesorio sign-in is no longer valid. Sign out and sign in again. Click Sign out, then click Sign in again.
To sign out at any time, click Sign out in the panel. Signing out removes the invoice and the portal data that the extension keeps in your browser.
4. Allow the extension to read portal pages
Many supplier portals show their sign-in form inside a frame that comes from another website. Chrome lets the extension read such a frame only if you allow it for all websites. The extension asks you one time.
When the panel shows One-time permission, click Allow Tesorio to read portal pages.
In the Chrome window that opens, click Allow.
This permission does not start any reading. The extension reads a page only after you click the Tesorio icon or Analyze this page on that tab. It forgets the tab when you close it or sign out. You can remove the permission at any time from chrome://extensions, under the details of this extension.
5. Sign in to a supplier portal
Open the portal's sign-in page.
Click the Tesorio icon, or press Ctrl+Shift+F (Windows) or Command+Shift+F (Mac).
Click Analyze this page.
The Portal sign-in card shows the Tesorio login that matches this portal. If more than one login matches, click Change and select the correct one. The extension remembers your choice for this portal.
Click Fill this page. The extension types the username and the password into the portal.
Click the portal's own sign-in button.
If the login has a one-time code (from an authenticator app), the extension fills the code too. A code is valid for about 30 seconds. If the portal refuses the code, click Fill a new code.
You can also double-click a username or password box on the portal to select a login from a list.
The extension reads the password from Tesorio when it fills the page. It does not show the password and does not keep it in your browser.
6. Fill an invoice form
Select the invoice
Open the portal page where you create the invoice.
In the panel, type the invoice number in Search invoices. The panel shows up to 10 matches, with the customer name and the amount.
Click the invoice.
Analyze the page
Click Analyze this page. The extension reads the form and matches each box to a value from your invoice.
Look at each box on the portal page. The extension marks each one:
Filled: the extension typed a value. Check it.
A value in grey with ✓ and ✕: a suggestion. Click ✓ to accept it or ✕ to reject it. To accept all suggestions, click Accept all in the panel.
N options (amber): more than one value can fit. Click the box and select a value, or click Keep empty, I'll type it.
Pick date format: the box does not show which date format it wants. Click it and select the format. The extension remembers the format for this portal.
Edited: you changed the value after the extension filled it.
Type any value that the extension did not fill.
Copy values by hand
The panel shows the invoice values under Invoice values, for example Invoice number, PO number, Invoice date, Due date and Invoice amount.
Click a value to copy it.
Within 30 seconds, click a box on the portal page to paste it.
You can also copy Line items one value at a time. To show more fields from Tesorio, click Choose next to Custom fields and select the fields.
If the portal page changes, the panel shows You've moved to a new page. Click Read this page again.
7. Attach the invoice PDF and other files
In the panel, find Attach invoice PDF and click Attach. The extension puts the invoice PDF from Tesorio on the portal's upload box.
If the page has more than one upload box, the panel shows Can't tell which upload is the invoice. Click Put it myself, then click the correct upload box on the portal page. The extension outlines each upload box that it can find.
Under Attachments, the panel also shows the other files on the invoice and on the customer. For each file, you can click View, Put on page or Download.
To see the invoice PDF in the panel, click View PDF. The values that the extension used are highlighted on the PDF. Click a highlight to copy it.
8. Mark the invoice as submitted
Check all the values on the portal page.
Submit the invoice on the portal. The extension never clicks a submit button for you.
When the portal accepts the invoice, click Mark as submitted in the panel.
Tesorio marks the invoice as submitted and stops the recording of this visit. To start the next invoice, click Submit another invoice.
9. Manage portal logins
The extension uses the portal logins that your company saves in Tesorio. Each user with access sees all the logins of the company.
To add a login from the extension (admins only):
In the panel, open the saved credentials list and click + Add a credential.
Enter the Portal URL, for example
https://service.ariba.com/, and the Portal name, for example Taulia.Optional: enter a name for this login.
Enter the Username and the Password.
Optional: if the portal uses an authenticator app, enter the one-time-password secret, or upload an image of the QR code.
Click Add credential.
The extension offers a login only on the website of its portal URL. A login with no portal URL is not offered on any page.
10. Recording and your data
What Tesorio records
When you use the extension on a supplier portal, Tesorio records the portal tab. The recording shows what was on the page and what was typed. Tesorio uses it to learn how each portal works and to improve the extension.
Tesorio records only a tab where you clicked the Tesorio icon or Analyze this page.
Tesorio records only known supplier portals and portals that have a saved login. On another site that looks like a portal, the panel asks This looks like a supplier portal. Record this site? Recording starts only if you click Start recording.
Tesorio does not record password boxes or one-time code boxes. It records other typed values.
Tesorio does not record the Tesorio panel or Tesorio's own pages.
The panel shows the recording state, for example Recording this submission, to learn how this portal works.
The recording stops when you click Mark as submitted or Discard, or when you close the tab or the panel.
What the extension sends to Tesorio
The labels and names of the boxes on the page, the page address and the page title, so that Tesorio can match the boxes to your invoice.
The recording of the portal tab.
Error reports, with your email, so that Tesorio can fix problems.
What stays in your browser
Your Tesorio sign-in, the selected invoice, the login you chose for each portal and the date format for each portal.
The extension does not keep portal passwords or one-time code secrets in your browser.
11. What the extension does not do
It does not submit the invoice. It does not click any button on the portal. You click sign-in, next and submit yourself.
It does not fill a page until you click the Tesorio icon or Analyze this page on that tab. Another tab does not get access when you switch to it.
It does not fill logins on pages that start with
http://. The portal page must usehttps://.It cannot read a form that comes from a different website than the portal page.
It cannot read some forms that keep their contents private. The panel then shows This page hides its fields. Copy the values from Invoice values instead.
It finds invoices by invoice number only.
It works in Google Chrome on a computer only.
12. Troubleshooting
The panel shows "No supplier portal on this tab". Open the portal page in this tab, then click the Tesorio icon. The extension cannot work on Chrome pages or on the Chrome Web Store.
The panel shows "Tesorio didn't find a login or invoice form here". Wait for the page to load, then click Read this page again. If the form comes from a different website, copy the values from Invoice values.
No login shows for the portal. Check that the login in Tesorio has the portal URL of this website. Ask your Tesorio admin to add the login.
"Your Tesorio sign-in is no longer valid." Click Sign out, then click Sign in.
"Tesorio refused the credential." Only a Tesorio admin can add or change a login.
